Nick Sousanis, will present ideas about teaching, learning and multimodality, drawing from his dissertation, Unflattening, written entirely in comic book form. Sousanis argues that visual thinking is important as a teaching tool in the classroom, and will also invite the audience to try out this thinking through visuals in a hands-on activity. The seminar will be held via live weblink from San Francisco.

Nick Sousanis, comics artist and assistant professor of Humanities and Liberal Studies at San Francisco State University. His dissertation, Unflattening, was published by Harvard University Press in 2015 and received the 2016 American Publishers Awards for Professional and Scholarly Excellence in Humanities and the Lynd Ward Prize for Graphic Novel of the Year.
